Act of Mutiny, who are we?

Six men from Leiden, Holland, started a group for themselves. They sing maritime folkmusic and more. It are the traditional work songs of sailors, fishermen, lumberjacks and inmates. Also ballads about the sea, privateering, mutiny and lost loves are sung.

The repertoire, which is continuously being renewed, originates from England, Ireland, France, America, Canada, the Caribbean and other countries. Besides singing a capella, songs are accompanied by guitar, banjo, cello, tin whistles and bodhrán.

Highlights of the past few years were our performances for the Festival Maritim Vegesack (Bremen Germany), the International Shantyfestival Bie Daip in Appingedam, the Festival du Chant de Marin (Paimpol, Bretagne) and the Vliegende Hollander Festival (Flying Dutchman Festival) in Terneuzen.
